How to read this page (tap to open or close)
VisitOne time someone opens one of our websites. If the same person comes back tomorrow, that's 2 visits.
Real personA visit where someone actually had our page on their screen and looked at it: for 10 seconds or more, or looked at 2+ pages, or sent us a message.
RobotsComputer programs that open websites automatically (search engines checking pages, spam tools). They make the numbers look bigger, so we don't count them as real people.
Typed our address / saved linkThey typed the address in, used a bookmark, or tapped a link in WhatsApp, a text, an email or a QR code. People we give our address to (cards, vans, quotes) show up here.
Google search (free)They searched on Google and clicked our normal listing. We don't pay for these. Getting more of them is what SEO is about.
Google Ads (paid)They clicked our advert on Google. We pay Google for every one of these clicks.
First pageThe first page someone sees when they arrive: often the page Google or an advert sent them to.
Time readingHow long our page was actually on their screen. A tab left open in the background doesn't count.
SEOShort for "search engine optimisation": making the website easy for Google to understand, so Google shows it higher up, for free, when people search.
Position in GoogleWhere we appear in Google's list. 1 is the very top. 10 is the bottom of the first page. 11 or more is page two, which hardly anyone looks at.

What this tells us
How people behave, depending on how they found us
Each row is a different way people found the website. Compare how long each group stayed and how much they looked at. Tap a row to see only that group everywhere on this page.

Visits includes robots. Real people are visits where someone actually looked at the page. Time reading and pages looked at are averages for the real people only. New visitors had never been to the site before. Google's own count ("engaged sessions") also counts tabs left open in the background and robots that hold a page open, so it's higher.

Averages here include every visit, robots too, so they're lower than for real people. Messages here include our own tests of the form. Last visit is the most recent day someone arrived on that page; a greyed date is a week or more ago, so it's past activity, not something happening now.

Each message someone sent, with how they found us and the page they landed on. Names and details are private, so they're in the Silverdale Canvassing app's Responses tab, matched by the time. Times are UK time.
        Taps and buttons
Who tapped the phone number or email address, and which buttons people pressed, and on which page. Recorded from 27 Sep 2026.
          Where people are
Isle of Man towns first, then other countries. Visits from abroad with no real people are nearly always robots.
            What time people visit
Isle of Man time. Handy for knowing when adverts should run and when someone should be ready to answer the phone. Hover or tap a bar for the numbers.
            Which day people visit
            What they used
Phone or computer. If most real people are on phones, the phone version of the site matters most.

              Google search and SEO
What is SEO? SEO means making the website easy for Google to understand, so it shows us higher up when people search, for free. Most people click one of the top 3 results, and almost nobody looks past the first page (position 10). The higher our position, the more free visitors we get.

              Search words from:
Search words need a longer window than visits: most words are only typed a handful of times a year. These buttons only change the Google search section.
